We Play Music hosted by Dj Dlux premiered its first live show on 15th January in the Queen of Hoxton, bringing bands and artists to you live and direct on Deja Vu fm. With talent from wall to wall and Deja’s own Joshua Jones and TDK co-presenting, it was always set to be a big night.
The opener of the evening Delilah accompanied by Stirra, started the night how it meant to go own, showcasing her promising new track, and ending on a beautiful rendition of Cry Me A River.
Next on was Dylema from 4WordMusic, who played an inspired set, and is surely one to watch for the coming year, likewise Tereza Delzz, whose new single ‘Secrets & Lies’ is out soon.
With the first live band of the night, and full of charisma Cynikal and his Street Orchestra really got the crowd going, and his masterful lyricism and flow intertwined with the groove created by the Cajone and Guitar players gave a refreshing and positive sound. We were then blessed with the voice of Angel J to finish the first half, already established in the scene, but reaffirming her position as one of the best vocalists in the Urban Scene.

Opening the second half Dionne Reid set the levels high with a great vibe and an even greater voice, and Kenza maintained this with a strong set, accompanied by an amazing band, her hip hop medley being one of the highlights of the night, finishing on her new single ‘I Believe’. Jay Jay (Born 2 Sing) then brought a huge dancehall vibe to the Queen Of Hoxton, before making way for White Powder Gold, an act that made a huge mark on the night, combining big guitar riffs with a powerful vocal, almost Rage against the Machine like, but whatever it was they tore the place down! Soneni & The Soul finished the live bands for the night, getting absolutely everyone on their feet in approval.

To make the night, Big Narstie came on as a special guest to P.A his track ‘Gas Leak’ bringing a madness to the stage, and to the whole of the Queen Of Hoxton. With Deja’s D Power Diesle coming on too, to premiere his new track, a remix of an old Skepta classic, it brought the night to a riotous close.
