Jose Carretas
Jose Carretas joined the restless soul team in 2006 alongside Luke Mcarty, Aaron Ross, Taxi Driver, Felix Hopkins, Modaji and Phil Asher himself. For almost fifteen years Jose has been spinning records in and out of the UK at spots including the infamous "Space" nights at the Cross and Pacha, Soul Heaven and Mn2s. In this time he has had the pleasure of djing alongside many of the greats of house music including Kenny Carpenter and Bert Bevans from the legendary Paradise Garage and studio 54 clubs in New York, Phil Asher ,C.J. Macintosh to name but a few. At the beginning of the millenium he worked as Dance music distributer for Goya music, Greyhound Records and Honest jons gaining great knowledge in all types of music which has come to reflect in his music. In the past few years he has remixed and produced tracks for and with Quentin harris, Fini Dolo Steal Vybe, Vanessa Freeman, Guy Robin, Marcus Begg, Anto Vitale & Dani. 2008 was a turning point for Jose as he has became a resident D.J.for Damon Albarns Gorillaz sound system which have recently toured the world performing to crowds of up to 35.000 including Creamfields south America, Global gathering Australia, London Don Perignon, Canne film festival and the MTV awards. Now back in the UK and back in the studio with a bag load of brand new Jose Carretas tracks set to be released, this looks set to be Jose's year. Catch the Jose Carretas restless soul sessions on saturday afternoons 4pm till 6pm, playing upfront soulful house music.
