LR Groove is a DJ/Producer from London. He's been DJ-ing in and around London and the UK for the last 12 years. Initially inspired by the Hardcore scene back in 1991/92 he decided to teach himself how to mix and scratch. This took him through the genres of Hardcore, Jungle and Drum 'n' Bass under the DJ name of 'Original Bones' which led to a few guest shows on various radio stations around London. In the years of 1994/95 he worked in a local record shop called 'Jump to the Groove', this led to a big passion for Garage music and also had an influence on his current DJ name. It was around this time he attended a DeJaVu meeting and was offered the 'Graveyard shift' on the station, which he accepted and was asked for his DJ name. He had to think fast as he didn't feel his previous name was suitable for the Garage scene, and it was at that moment LR Groove was born. Unfortunately he didn't turn up for the 'Graveyard shift'. However, he went on to perform with a few radio stations including Passion FM, Time FM and a few guest shows on Unknown FM. After taking a break from the music scene for a few years he found himself taking an interest in the production side of things. In 2008/09 LR Groove was back on radio after being inspired to get back in the scene by his good friend MC Xcellence, in which time the two friends started working in partnership as 'Da Funkstars' on SubJam FM. This is when LR Groove started to take his production work seriously, with the support of fellow artists he started making a name for himself as an up and coming producer on the Funky scene. This has led to LR Groove's debut release called 'The Key EP' available on digital download, and many more productions being aired on radio stations such as KissFM, Radio1Xtra, ChoiceFM, DeJaVu, Rinse Fm and many other underground stations as well as tearing up the dancefloors Catch LR Groove every Saturday night here (22:00-00:00) GMT, playing the best in House and UK Funky also supporting new music.
