Unique Family
DJ, Presenter/Host KYRUPTA: I am only 1 half of the Unique Family. The second half is now Maveeda. I have been mixing and playing with decks from the age of 16. My genre of music back then was just UK garage. Back then there was 4 members Mc Jb Dappa, Dj T-Y Eazy, Mc bikerman & my- self. We were at a point when everything was starting to fall into place when in Jan 2001 T-Y Eazy passed away in a tragic crash. So from there we all started to lose interest in the music scene. But as time went on we all carried on "grinding" as they say, in our fields... A few years later back on the band wagon, we were pushing twice as hard to make up for lost time and losing a proper team member... (This is a lot, as I am now crying as I am typing this.) R.I.P Brothers... Another spanner got thrown into our works. The inevitable happened... Bikerman had crashed and had done himself some serious damage. He was in a coma for about 3 weeks and then passed away just before Christmas a few years back. So from that left 2 man standing.. Jb and me. It hurts me when I think of all the memories I have for them with the sound, but I couldn’t let our archives and my talent go to waste. I am not saying I am the best, but in the same breath I am FAR from S**T! So From that point of time to 2009 I have just been trying to get a feel of what’s really going on again in the rave scene. In between that time I recruited in another dj, we done our thing for a while still, but I personally didn’t think his heart was in unique fam, so I had to let him go.. Big up Fingaz. Since then just been networking with promoters, dj’s, mc’s. But what we never did back then was get onto jb and link up with his cousin. (MC Bushkin from HLC or F.A.B)!! But when he finally did in 2006 or was it 07, Bush and I have been communicating neatly.. 2009 Is the year I meet Maveeda, and then we just clicked and joined alliances...
