The Cast
The movie stars Bafta Winner Adam Deacon as the lead role – Jerome Davies, a young footballer who enjoys the finer things in life, nice car, stunning penthouse apartment and a beautiful girl. For us as viewers it was a nice change to see Deacon in a positive role as oppose to roles he has played before in films such as “Kidulthood” and “Anuvva Hood”.
Deacon’s love interest in the film is played by Nichola Burley famed for her role in “Street Dance 3D”. Burley plays Lisa, a well-spoken and flirty yet firm journalist and is key to Jerome’s story. Her performance is brilliant in this film and I think that her “upper class” accent offsets brilliantly against the “urban” accent held by Deacon. England football legend, Geoff Hurst, makes a cameo in the film and is a natural in front of the camera. Showing that there are many talents to footballers!
