As associate sponsors, Vans has never shied away from pushing the boundaries and bringing the Californian spirit of Vans to Newquay. 2012 is no exception and has looked to shake things up and pulled together a lineup of activity to keep the hordes of revelers entertained on their trip down for another fantastic long weekend at Relentless Energy Drink Boardmasters in Association with Vans.
Skate and BMX:
Those familiar with the event are in for a surprise this year as Vans have completely shaken up the traditional vert and mini ramp set up with an incredible all new extended mini and street skate setup. Check out the layout plan for an insight on what to expect. Relentless Energy Drink Boardmasters in association with Vans never fails to attract the biggest names in skateboard and BMX and this year is looking no different. From the skateboard world you can expect to
see the likes of Josh Young, Jake Collins, Andy Scott, Darryl Dominguez amongst others. BMX enthusiasts can look forward to the likes of Vincent Mayne, Phil Aller, Zack Williams, Tobias Wicke, Marcus Braumann all competing for their share of the £14k prize pot.
Surf:
It wouldn’t be the Relentless Energy Drink Boardmasters in association with Vans if it weren’t for surf. Since being reclassified as a 6 Star event on the ASP world tour circuit in 2011 the event has had no problem in attracting the worlds most gifted surfers down to Fistral for a slice of the jaw dropping $145 000 prize pot. Notable athletes already confirmed to compete include globally recognized athletes such as Romain Cloitre, Joan Duru, Candice O’Donnell, Marlon Lipke and Antoine Delpero (the champion of the 2011 longboard event). As the home of UK surfing, Vans will do their utmost to ensure the beach is there for all to enjoy in spite of the massive influx of people and activity. As such, the now-customary Vans beach clean up scheme will be in full swing each morning with special Vans gifts awarded to the first ten attendees each day that are pitching in to help with this much valued and open-to-all initiative.

Music:
When the sun goes down, the fun will not stop as the Watergate bay site will be firing on all cylinders- none more so than the Vans ‘Off The Wall’ stage where treasured Vans favourites Pulled Apart By Horses and Set Your Goals are both leading a ferocious lineup of the finest musical acts and set to blow the roof off of the tent once again.
